World AIDS Day is the international day which draws attention to HIV/AIDS helping to raise funds and awareness.
This year the NSW Red Ribbon Appeal hopes to raise $150,000 to assist people living with HIV/AIDS.
Around 200 volunteers will sell red ribbons at key inner city sites.
Key events during AIDS Awareness Week include:
- Walk for AIDS on Sunday 23 November www.walkforaids.org.au
- The Candlelight Memorial on Tuesday 1 December www.candlelight.org.au
- World AIDS Day Concert on Sunday 6 December www.acon.org.au/WADconcert
People can help by
Volunteering a few hours of their time to sell red ribbons on World AIDS Day on Tuesday, 1 December 2008
or by ordering
a pre-packed box of Red Ribbons to sell to friends, colleagues or customers
during AIDS Awareness Week.
